2025 was one of transition for OHEF. In March, we hired a new executive director, in May we welcomed many new board members, in June we awarded $70K in scholarships, and in December we hosted our first fundraising event in over 2 years.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Oak Harbor Educational Foundation, thank you to the many individuals and businesses who have supported Oak Harbor students through our foundation in 2025. Together, we awarded $70,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors!
This past year was one of transition for OHEF. In March, we hired a new executive director, Lisa Jones, and in May we welcomed many new board members while offering our heartfelt appreciation to departing founding members. Many thanks to Alerd Johnson, Cathy George, Mike Waller, and Dave Johnson for their years of dedicated service.
Since 1992, OHEF has supported graduating seniors through the administration of scholarships while building and stewarding an endowment that now exceeds $1.6 million. This work has been a labor of love. Thanks to your continued generosity, we look ahead to 2026 with excitement - anticipating an increase in the number of scholarships available to seniors, providing grant opportunities for teachers and schools, and renewed community engagement through several exciting events.
It is an honor to serve alongside the extraordinary OHEF board on behalf of Oak Harbor’s students and educators. As we reflect with gratitude on 2025, we also look forward with hope and enthusiasm for the year ahead. Thank you again for your partnership and support.
