Our Scholarships

Each June, the Oak Harbor Educational Foundation (OHEF) celebrates the hopes, dreams, and hard work of Oak Harbor’s graduating seniors by awarding more than $70,000 in endowed and annual scholarships each year. Our scholarships are made possible through the generosity of donors who believe that education transforms lives. Each scholarship tells a story of families honoring loved ones, of community members investing in education, and of students turning potential into possibility.

Whether created as a one-time gift or as an enduring endowment, every scholarship fuels opportunity and builds a lasting legacy of learning in Oak Harbor. Captain Frank Emory Memorial Scholarship

One $25,000 scholarship for a student going into a STEM field.

Gregory A. Saar Scholarship

$20,000 for one or more scholarships

Career & Tech - Naas Family

$9000 for one or more student whose intent is to pursue a technical degree or certification at a college, vocational/technical school, or apprenticeship program

2nd Chance - Naas Family

$9000 for one or more student attending a community or technical college who has overcome personal struggles or adversity.

Mark Calim Memorial Scholarship for Future Automotive Technicians

$3000 for 1 student pursuing a career in automotive repair

Al Koetje Mayor’s Scholarship

One $3000 scholarship awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills

OHEF - Career & Tech

$2000 for one or more student who's intent is to pursue a technical degree or certification at a college, vocational/technical school, or apprenticeship program

Up to $2000, 1 or more recipients

Island Thrift: Jim Konopik & Jo Balda Scholarships

$1000 for 2 students showing outstanding community service

Island Thrift: Nida Paggao and Susan & Barry Sehlin Scholarships

$1000 for 2 students who has demonstrated, or will be pursuing, a career or course of study, civic, political, and/or social service.

JJ Jones Family Scholarship

One $1500 scholarship

Coach Eric Lindberg Scholarship

One $1500 scholarship to a student athlete

NW Bookkeeping Scholarship

One $1000 for one student attending a two or four-year college or technical school with a goal of pursuing studies in business, accounting, or certified bookkeeping.
