
Captain Frank Emory Memorial Scholarship
One $25,000 scholarship for a student going into a STEM field.
Frank Emory grew up in Oak Harbor on his family farm until the property was relinquished around 1939 to build Navy Whidbey in anticipation of impending war. Starting in 1943, after graduation from Oak Harbor High School, he flew P-47s and P-51s with the 8th Air Force out of England through the end of war years. He flew jets with the USAF tactical air forces for the rest of his career, including commanding the F-5 Skoshi Tiger Squadron in Vietnam. He retired as Colonel in 1971.

● Acceptance at a 4 year college or university
● Strong participation in athletic and other activities

● 500 word or less essay “How Will My Lifetime Goals Help Me Contribute to Society?”
● 3 letters of recommendation from people other than relatives. Each must include the reference’s name, address and phone number
